Haha and once again we witness my inability to keep up with diaries.
But as always life has been busy. Nothing new in the personal art box unfortunately, but my university work has led to wonderful things! I'm currently working with Urtext Films, creating matte paintings for their steampunk movie Aurora.
My classes have just about wrapped up for the year, just intime for my birthday in two days. I got to attend my first end of year screening which showcased all the films that had been made by Honours and 3rd year students. I worked on a few, getting my first taste of flash animation tweening as well as my first steps into matte painting scenes out of H P Lovecraft's Mountains of Madness.
AVCON was wonderful, I cosplayed for the first time as Amy Sorel from Soul Calibur. I also won first place in the Original art category with Wrath, as well as second place in Video Game Art with Stolen Piggy. The prize was many many comic books :D Thankyou Pulp Fiction
 
Anyway, in other news I'm finally leaving the family home and moving in with the wonderful Miss Gee for arty goodness. Next year I hope to be making my own feature animation with the help of many amazing people...maybe I'll slip another post in here before then :)

Well....haven't I been neglecting this site a little bit.
Ah, many things have happened! Well my computer of 5 years finally died, and in a mad panic and 2 weeks of working from a laptop I got my new Promethia and entered the world of Windows 7 (which is beautiful :)
I've learnt a little 3D modelling and been thoroughly enjoying learning the ins and outs of game development and film at uni, and I've finally started making costumes through work.
Gumeracha Faire has been and gone with much mead, and freezing of the limbs and the traditional 'wounding' by someone. I shall not name names :P
Also through the loss of my old computer, I lost my codes for this site, so that explains my absense. But I thoroughly look forward to updating it from now on!
AVCon 2010 is all most apon us, and I'll be disapearing to the tropics again just before hand. I hope I'll be ready in time and I can't wait to share some new badge designs with you all :)
P.S I'll be doing a live demo on Sunday! Yay come and intimidate me :P

19/1/10 A New Start - Year of the Tiger
Well, I've been a bit lazy since my last update. But lots of things have happened! I had a great time in Melbourne at Armageddon, I love those Melbournites more each year. We also discovered energy boosted slushies made great breakfast, I also fell in love with Gigi Edgley all over again when she asked for one of my pictures of her Farscape character Chiana.
I had a hectic time coming home, going straight from my red eye flight into my first day working at Spotlight in Gepps Cross, which I love. So naturally, caught up in the christmas fever at work, I started sewing (as if I needed another craft on my list LOL) Of course after that was my 21st birthday, I had a great party and felt very loved, and still made it to work the next day.
Anyway after my time off from my muse, I've been getting itchy feet so I bought a new sketch book New Years Day to start fresh with new ideas. I've been accepted into the Bachelor of Creative Arts Digital Media at Flinders University which I'm so excited about. It means a whole new level of creativity coming out.
So I promise lots of new art going up soon, and just for my Maia, I'll be uploading my Badges to the gallery for order.
I hope everyone's New Year was as inspiring as mine!
